The Latest Information in the Digital Art World of Chris Nielsen
January 23, 2012 - New Year! New Look on the Home Page! You obviously know that if you have come
to check out my site from previous visits... So, why the change? Well, I am working on a series of new
"ASSEMBLAGE" pieces (the rest you will see on the home page later on).
The "Assemblage" illustration prints were the idea that came about from a brainstorming session between
Mr. Timothy Stephens (ChopperHead Magazine) and myself. Such a simple idea, but I never thought of it before.
The "PEACE FLOWER" was a way to work a combination of my motorcycle art with the Peace Efforts
of Mr. Paul McCartney. That illustration will be handed out to a bunch of people at a Grammy-related awards
ceremony in honor of Sir Paul himself later this year. I will talk more about that later on...
January 22, 2012 - The Latest "WORK IN PROGRESS PREVIEWS" of the "HD" Print I am working on in
Adobe Illustrator CS5. I think that damn Gas Tank killed my file because it kept crashing Illustrator today!
No need to panic! I copied and pasted a billion layers onto a New File and that seems to have solved the issue... so far!

October 9, 2011 - I just got my copy of the Illustrator CS5 WOW! Book and they
still included my illustration work on 3 pages. I am in the New Chapter called,
"Master Complexity" near the back of the book... Pages 223, 224 & 229 to be exact!
May 2, 2011 - Finally finished my latest print with the "model" on the gas tank.
I named this print - "LET IT RIDE" and you can see it now on the second
gallery page of my Motorcycle Art Portfolio pages!
February 23, 2011 - Damn! First update of the new year...
Well, I JUST MADE MY DVD PRICES MORE MANAGEABLE and took out
some of the DVDs from the list that no one was really interested in.
SO, GO CHECK OUT THE "DVDs" PAGE AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS!!!
December 24, 2010 - I just dropped of the Signed #1 of 20 Print to Matt Hotch... the
creator of the Vincent Bike that the Print was based off of. I met up with Matt at his
new shop out in Fullerton. And, of course, I forgot my Artist Proof Print for him to sign
as well. But, he told me to come by any time and he would sign my copy, so that was cool!
December 24, 2010 - I just gave the Winner of the "Guess the Anchor Points" Contest
for the Vincent Print his Grand Prize! Here we are, Tex Schneider and myself with
the Signed #2 of 20 Limited-Edition Print. Congrats Tex!!!
December 20, 2010 - I was recently in a Group Show called "It's All In the Details".
It was hosted at the Santa Ana College Santora Arts Building Gallery.

September 23, 2010 - I just finished my latest Motorcycle Print... "The Vincent".

August 16, 2010 - I just lowered the prices for most of my Tutorial DVD sets...
(just too many people complaining that they can't afford the previous prices... WAH!)
I also added some shipping information to cover International Orders for anyone outside the U.S.
who also may want to order my DVDs... Shipping is crazy when going out of the country!
July 22, 2010 - I just finished my Video Tutorial DVDs for the CS5 applications...
all except for InDesign CS5. I am still working on that one, so don't hold your breath!

December 28, 2009 - I just watched a new TV Show on the Discovery Channel
called "Motor City Motors". It features the Detroit Bros. and their shop with
challenges and custom builds... In one scene in the office, I saw MY PRINT
of their "Revenge Bike" hanging right there on the freakin' wall! Hell yeah!
To be honest, I didn't know if they had kept it or not, but it was so damn cool
to see that they not only kept it, but they have it displayed!
The Detroit Bros. freakin' kick ass! Thanks guys!!!
December 8, 2009 - I just got my copies of the latest ChopperHead Magazine!
I really like how each issue just keeps getting better and better...
My ONLY REGRET: We are not producing it often enough!!! Maybe some day!
December 7, 2009 - Here's an updated "Work in Progress" shot at
my latest Motorcycle Print.... There will be a contest when it is done,
so keep checking back for more updates!
The amount of details is just mind-boggling, even for me to work on, but
I think that's why I chose to work on this portrait. What do you think so far?
October 17, 2009 - Just sent off the "Red Indian" Motorcycle Illustration
to the fine folks at Chrome Magazine... a start-up Motorcycle Magazine
down in Florida. Looking forward to seeing the final results on the cover.

The InDesign CS4 2-DVD set is ONLY $20.
So many people were having trouble affording my DVD sets...
It won't get any cheaper than that! So, if you still have trouble

June 25, 2008 - I am still plugging away at my Adobe Creative Suite Training DVDs this summer!
So far, I have recorded over 600 individual lesson videos just for Illustrator CS3.
I am now working on the training videos for Photoshop CS3. It is a long process,
but I will have everything done by the end of the summer, just in time for the
Fall 2008 Semester to begin. I am currently testing them out in my summer
school class over at Orange Coast College... so, stay tuned!
March 1, 2008 - I just got my copies of the Northwest Edition, March issue of QuickThrottle Magazine.
This is the one with the GLORY STOMPER portrait of the cover! Fu#@ing awesome printing!

February 24, 2008 - Well, the release party for the Premiere Issue of ChopperHead in its
new, larger format was a blast. AND, we found out that the issue was already on the shelves
at a local Barnes & Noble that night! It wasn't supposed to be release until March 4th!
So, a couple of us went down the street to check it out and... there it was!!! Totally cool.

February 22, 2008 - I just got the email from Mike Dalgaard at QuickThrottle Magazine.
They will be using the GLORY STOMPER Illustration for the cover art for the March Issue.
Many, many thanks to Mike and his wife, Nancy, for believing in my work so much!
(They always do a great job with my work, so I can't wait to check it out... again!)
February 20, 2008 - OK, I am just really excited about the next motorcycle portrait I am doing,
that I decided (against my better judgement) to post a preview of the work in progress so far...

November 28, 2007 - This has been a very productive year... at least for publishing my work.
To date, this year, my work has been the cover illustration for 4 different magazine issues AND
I got 3 featured pages in the Illustrator CS3 WOW! Book. Not bad, but I want more!!!
Now I have a goal (a total if you will) to beat in 2008. Stay tuned...
November 26, 2007 - I just got an email last night from Beth Silva. She is the Art Director
for a Trade Publication called "Dealer News". It is a magazine marketed to all the power
sports dealers in that industry... you know, motorcycle dealers, Sea-Doos, Jetskis, boats, etc...
They will be using my portrait of the "DUCATI" print for their December Cover issue.
The December issue typically showcases one of the most successful industry dealers,
but this year, since she really liked the DUCATI Print, she wanted to use that shot for
this year's cover. She found my website on some random search for motorcycle art.
I think the cover came out great... here it is. Let me know what you think!
November 25, 2007 - I have FINALLY finished my Print of Matt Hotch's "CHINGON" Bike!

September 5, 2007 - After spending most of this past summer learning all the new features of the CS3 Applications,
I am getting back to work on my motorcycle portrait art in Illustrator CS3.
I experimented with the New Simplify Dialog Box... It now gives you a reading of all the anchor points in your file!
With that in mind, I opened up each of my motorcycle portraits and counted all the anchor points in each one:
